Credit inquiry, explained

Explore first. Decide what happens next.

Checking initial options uses a soft credit inquiry and will not affect your credit score. If you choose to proceed with a financing partner, that partner may require a hard credit inquiry. You will be shown the applicable authorization before that step.

Clear before you continue

BeeMar Capital is not the lender and does not make credit decisions. Approval, rates, terms, fees, availability, and funding are determined by participating financing partners and borrower qualifications.

Good questions.

The things homeowners actually ask us — about credit, cost, privacy, and what happens next. Can’t find yours? Bee can explain the basics or point you toward a real person.

01Is BeeMar a bank or a lender?

No. BeeMar Capital is a financing consultant. We help you understand your options and put together a complete application, then bring it to participating financing partners. Those partners make the credit decision and set approval, rates, terms, and fees — BeeMar does not decide, and cannot guarantee an approval.

02How do I start an application?

Most homeowners start with their contractor. Once an approved BeeMar builder partner opens your project, you get a secure invitation by email or scan a QR code onsite. You claim that invitation and complete the application yourself — your contractor cannot fill it out or submit it for you.

03What if my contractor hasn’t sent me an invitation?

Ask them to start the project with BeeMar, or tell us who they are and we will reach out to them. If you already have an invitation code in hand, you can enter it directly instead of waiting on the email.

Tell us about your contractor
04Is there any cost to talk with BeeMar?

No. The consultation is free and there is no obligation to move forward. If you choose a financing option, any rates, terms, or fees that come with it belong to the financing partner and are disclosed to you before you commit to anything.

05Will exploring my options affect my credit score?

Checking initial options uses a soft credit inquiry, which does not affect your credit score. If you decide to proceed, a financing partner may require a hard credit inquiry — you will see the explanation and the authorization before that happens, never after.

06What rates and terms will I be offered?

BeeMar does not set rates or terms; participating financing partners do, based on the project, the option you choose, and your qualifications. You will see the actual numbers from the partner before you accept anything. Any figures on this site are illustrations, not offers.

07How much will my monthly payment be?

That depends on the amount financed, the rate, and the term a financing partner offers you. Our payment calculator is there to help you think in ranges and see what a little extra each month does — it is an illustration, not a quote.

08Should I apply before I know exactly what the project will cost?

Usually, yes. A contractor’s estimate is enough to start the conversation, and project scope changes more often than it doesn’t. Tell us what you are planning and we will walk through how a change in the number would affect your options.

09Do I need equity in my home?

It depends on the financing option. Requirements differ from one participating financing partner to the next, and BeeMar will tell you what a specific option requires before you apply for it.

10How long does the whole process take?

It varies by financing partner, by financing option, and by how quickly requested documents come back. BeeMar does not guarantee a decision date or a funding date — that timing belongs to the partner, and we would rather tell you that plainly than pick a number.

11What can my contractor see about my application?

High-level project progress and the tasks their own team owns. Contractors do not receive your credit score, your income documents, your private communications with BeeMar, or the reasons behind a decision.

12What happens after I submit?

A BeeMar loan specialist reviews your application for completeness and follows up with you if something is missing. Once it is ready, it goes to participating financing partners for their decision, and you can sign back in to see where things stand.

13Can one application be used to look at more than one option?

Where available, yes — one BeeMar application can be used to explore multiple participating options. That is not a guarantee of multiple offers. What is available depends on the project, which partners participate, and your qualifications.
